I am going to take the next few seconds to explain to you for which reasons network marketing will ALWAYS work so that the next time someone tries to convince you that it doesn’t work you explain to them how completely misinformed they truly are.

The truth is most people live pay check to pay check. They aren’t able to buy the nice things that they want for themselves and their families. Did you know in a past poll conducted by Money magazine that 64% of American men and 68% of American women polled said that if they had a choice between more money and more time off they would choose the time? People covet their free time. Network marketing offers the promise of working from home and making your own hours. Again, the opportunity to create free time will ALWAYS draw people to network marketing.

Conclusion:

As long as people crave time, money and freedom network marketing will ALWAYS exist.

The next time that someone tries to tell you that network marketing doesn’t work you know that they couldn’t be more wrong.

All you have to is ask your accuser 1 of 3 questions:

Do you want more money? Do you want freedom from your job? Do you want more time?

Consider the steps to success for a shopkeeper versus your own business.

Step #1

A shopkeeper decides to open a shop selling what they love for which there is a market. You decide to start an online business marketing what you love for which there is a demand.

Step #2

They decide on a location to get the best exposure and traffic to their shop. You decide on a marketing platform and keyword/s that will bring traffic to your site.

Step #3

They decide on a name and branding. You decide on a name and branding.

Step #4

They fit the shop out and purchase operating equipment eg: a cash register. You design or get your site designed and buy tools eg: an auto responder

Step #5

They have an opening party and hand out give always on the street. You have a launch, join social networks, make friends and give away valuable content

Step #6

They advertise that they’re in business. You SEO your site, advertise and /or write content to market your business.

Step #7

People start visiting their shop. They interact and find out their needs. You start to get traffic to your site. You interact and find out the needs of your leads.

Step #8

They offer solutions where possible for which they get paid. People who they can’t help leave. You offer solutions where possible for which you get paid. People who you can’t help move on.

Step #9

They repeat steps 6 – 8. Enough people visit and buy. They make enough money. You repeat steps 6 – 8. Enough people visit and buy. You make enough money.

Step #10

They have a profitable business – Happy shopkeeper. You have profitable a business – Happy online business owner.

Did you notice that there is far more that is similar in principle above than not? If your business is not making money, at which steps above do you need to focus?

Shopkeepers don’t continually go back to steps 1 through 4, they focus on trading and that happens principally in steps 7 to 9.

How successful would a shopkeeper be if they were to spend most of their time:

- at the local community college learning how to market a business,

- changing products and suppliers every second week,

- re-decorating their shop,

- stacking shelves,

- giving everything away for free,

- ignoring their customers,

- pitching their customers about products they didn’t require and

- not uncovering their customer’s needs so they could supply a solution?

You will agree, not very and yet this is exactly what many online businesses do instead of trading.

How successful would shopkeepers be if they focused on being upset about the people they couldn’t help? Do you buy something in every shop you go into?

As a priority shopkeepers focus on getting people into their shop, execute the trading process then rinse and repeat.

A successful Internet home based business should be no different. It must offer solutions to common problems, attract people with these problems, offer solutions in exchange for financial payment, then rinse and repeat.

• Are you more focused on preparing to trade or on actual trading?
• What do you think are the differences and/or similarities in skill-set required between a shopkeeper and you for interacting with possible ‘customers’ ?
• What if anything do you need to change in your business to become a more effective trader?
• A shopkeeper counts their takings at the end of the day to measure their trading success. How do you measure your daily trading success?

How many times have you heard this statement:
the money is in the list!

I know that you’ve probably heard about this countless times, read about it in so many blogs, and good chances are that you’ve really found this out for yourself.

Well, actually this is only a half-truth.

You may then ask:

What do you mean, Elmar? Is it or is it not true? Isn’t the money in the list? Why is it only a half-truth? What is true about it and what is not?

Let me explain.

My mentor is probably one of the greatest and most well-known online marketers. In one of our first few meetings, this is what he said to me that up until now is still very much ingrained in me:

“Your List Is Your Distribution Channel And

The Relationship That You Build With Your List

Is Your Business.”

One more time, just to make sure there is no confusion here, let us run by this again:

“Your list is your distribution channel and the relationship that you build with your list is your business.”

1st Truth: The Money Is In The List!

What I am saying then is that, yes, it’s true, the money is in the list. It’s really true! You have more potential to make good money with a list of 100,000 people compared to a list of 15,000 people. That’s pretty obvious, don’t you think? A bigger list translates to a possible bigger ROI, ergo, money is in the list!

But that’s just half of the equation. A half-truth. Because having a list is not enough. More than the list, what’s really important is how you deal or connect with your list. In a nutshell, we are talking about building relationships with your list.

2nd Truth: Building Relationships With Your List Is Your Business

Relationships are the foundation of your good online business.

An online business is actually one of the easily penetrable markets because all you have to do is set up a website and make it work for you. The next thing for you to do is just scour for people to market your products and services. Chances are, they all have email addresses or websites themselves or present in at least one of those social networking sites. In short, they are already habitués of the worldwide web. All you have to do is tap them and build your list.

But, just to reiterate what Mike Dillard of Magnetic Sponsoring (and now of the Elevation Group) has said, more than getting the numbers, it’s how you do with these numbers that will make a difference in your business. More than the quantity and the size, it should be the trust and the faith that people will have in you that will make your money grow.

Were you part of the buzzing excitement for The Elevation Group’s launch last 2 weeks?

Mike Dillard has done it again!

If you were with the rest of us last week, highly anticipating the 90-minute video of what has become a prelude to something great, then you will know what I am gushing about!

If, for some reason, you weren’t part of it, fret not! I hope this post of mine will titillate you enough into knowing more about The Elevation Group. At the close of 2010 and on the brink of 2011, we should really arm ourselves with something like this in order to wish ourselves a “Prosperous New Year” and actually believe it!

Let’s start with this fact.

Coping with what seemed to be an insurmountable financial crisis since 2007, all of us are feeling the hard times. We ask ourselves:

Is There A Way Out From This Financial Rut That We Are In Right Now?

The unemployment rate has gone up and money is just so hard to come by.

Is there something we can do?

Well, at this point, it all depends on you.

A resounding YES is of course the better answer. And we have two paradigms that we will be discussing in arriving at an answer:

First – Understanding the past is the key to predicting the future which is the key to incredible wealth

Second -Human nature is a better predictor of the future

Mike extensively outlined the economic and financial patterns of the US and the rest of the world from a timeline spanning the Great Depression to the present and it was one of his ways to see the similarities that happened in the past that are happening once again and check whether we have learned our lessons or not.

They say that history is the greatest teacher but, is it really? What did we do then given the situation before that made us confident that we are actually properly approaching the issue of an impending hyperinflation in the current times? Or, is what’s happening now a repercussion of our wrong decisions in the past?

Food For Thought.

On the other hand, Mike cited that the better predictor of our future is actually our human nature. He emphasized that it is our decisions, patterns of behavior, and our inherent nature to avoid pain and actually pursue pleasure that will serve as a better predictor of where we are going to be henceforth.

Now, this one is mind-boggling, to say the least, and leaves room for more thinking, isn’t it?

Which is why I am leaving you with these thoughts to ponder as we discuss more about The Elevation Group in my next post.

If you have less influence in person as a marketer, it is automatic that it cannot translate to any marketing strategy that you could do online. On the other hand, Alphas are intuitive.

Alphas are generally self-confident and secure. They can hold their ground online and offline. Prospecting in person or connecting with persons face-to-face is not an issue.

#7. Do You sell?

If you are selling outright nary a thought about the features and benefits of your products and/or services, you are obviously not an Alpha Networker. An Alpha Networker motivates the prospects first and never sells. You must be able to convince them to see the value in what you are representing.
