One of the things that business people take for granted most of the time is showing appreciation or gratitude for things done for him or her.

I surmise that business people would just expect things to be done for him or her like it’s part of the job or duty so no “thank yous” would be necessary. It’s just like saying, “Yeah, that’s part of your job so, yeah, thanks, but no thanks. You were really supposed to do it and I even paid good money for your services so…”

As an online marketer and as a businessman, I find this attitude disturbing. Because, if you really think about it, at the end of the day, you are still dealing with people and you are building relationships. The last thing you would want to do is to be without any kind of feelings or apathetic.

And of course, if you want to enter into a business involving people, you should start showing appreciation or gratitude first in your own backyard. Start with the people you work with and eventually you’ll have a culture of gratitude that transcends the workplace and spills all over everyone everywhere!

Inspired by Copyblogger’s Weekly Wrap,

where they highlight their topics for the week, I thought I’d come up with my own version of a recap.

Instead of a weekly wrap, though, I will be doing a monthly wrap or a month in review of the varied topics that I covered for the month of June. A June recap.

So, here it is:

Monthly Wrap!

I started the first week of June by acknowledging the Top Five Commentators of May. It was the first time I had a Top Five in the list!

I eventually went on to talk about goal-setting in what turned out to be a very effective title for a post, Marry For Love, Not Liquor. A June recap wouldn’t really be complete without a reference to a wedding in June, would it?

Before the first week was over, I welcomed another guest blogpost by my good friend, Marcus Baker, who happens to be this month’s Top Commentator!

“Thank you, Marcus, for your overwhelming support, not only by gracing my website with such an eye-opener of an article, but also by your constant presence and insightful comments to my every post. I am so filled with utmost gratitude!”

Then I proceeded about the great debate as to whether you give away content for free or give it in exchange for a name and an email.

I also outlined the things that we could do to a green business online. In more ways than one, we can do our bit part in being ecologically sound in business.

I also introduced the burgeoning concept of the zettabyte and how it will alter the way we do business online.

If you’ve noticed, it looks like I really focused on instilling a good business sense this month of June as I likewise tackled language preferences in using Twitter for business. In addition, I went on to discuss the more important points in handling business online like positioning one’s business as well as laying the ground work for an informed and intelligent decision-making process in business.

To provide a refreshing take on social media matters, I also featured excerpts about online etiquette from Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop. This was of course in addition to the series of online etiquette tips that I shared with you.

Lastly, as June marked the end of the first half of the year, I deemed it necessary to have a midyear check to round up my June recap.

First, there was Oliver Tausend of

Ask Oliver Tausend and his smashing guest post entitled, “Building An MLM Business Online Internationally: Experiences.”

It was such a ground-breaking guest post that elicited a big number of comments even until today. Just goes to show how powerful Oliver is in the industry in which we revolve in.

Then, there was Ilka Flood of the Enlightened Networker, one whom I consider to be my bestest of online friends. “How To Crush Your Competition And Survive Marketing Your MLM Business Online” was such a formidable guest post that you couldn’t imagine it coming from such an amiable lady!

Ilka is such a nice person, an avid supporter of my site, but she’s really one lady with a good head between her shoulders. I will also be eternally grateful to her for giving me a chance to address her own set of readers and followers by allowing me to do a guest post in her site, “How To Tap The MLM Hero In You.”

June is here!

As the month of May wanes, the month of June beckons and the promise of new things await all of us! (Of course, it’s also high-time to unveil Empowered Online Entrepreneur’s Top 5 Commentators for May!)

This June, I thought I’d get a little personal with all of you and dish out five things you probably don’t know about me yet. (Yes, I’m still at it with my penchant for the number 5!)

My Favorite Song

There are a lot of songs that I like. One that really stands out from my collection of most-loved songs is “Sultans of Swing” from Dire Straits.

My Favorite Book

I like to read, but now, I mostly read inspirational books and not a lot of novels. One of the best inspirational books I’ve read is “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill.

My Most Memorable Travel Experience

In July 2009, I was in Austin, Texas where I met Mike Dillard (way before he started The Elevation Group), Tim Erway, Justin Christianson, and Craig Allen. On that meeting, I also had the luck to meet other top internet marketers and Mike’s team members, like David Schwind, Aaron & Sophia Rashkin, Eduard Martinez, Nathalie Stahl, and others. It was an honour for me, as a little guy, to meet people of this calibre! I felt very humble!

My Favorite Motto

“People don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care!”

This is a quote that we always use in MLM, because MLM is a people business. It’s a business of the heart. That’s also the reason why people who know less often have bigger and better results in their MLM business than people who know a lot more but don’t care about the people they’re dealing with.

The month of May is the fifth month.

And I just realized that I love the number five.

(In fact, I am coming out with my list of not one, not three, but five top commentators this month!)

My last posts were all about the good reasons we should start writing articles which I did in lumps of five.

Suddenly interested with the number five, I did some random search about it and here are five of the interesting interpretations or facts that I gathered:

One

In the five phases of the manifestations of the Deity, the fifth phase is “Fruit” or the World of Action.

Two

In numerology, having a 5 personality means:

You make friends easily, you are versatile and multi-talented, upbeat and inspirational and a good communicator and motivator. You have great verbal skills and you are very dynamic, persuasive, adaptable, versatile and curious, courageous, bright and quick-witted.

You are an explorer and adventurer who wants to experience all of life, you also like to perform in front of audiences and you like to do several things at the same time.

Three

A perfect fifth is the most consonant harmony, and is the basis for most western tuning systems.

Four

The Olympic Games have five interlocked rings as their symbol, representing the number of inhabited continents represented by the Olympians (counting North America and South America as one continent).

Five

In radio communication, the term “Five by five” is used to indicate perfect signal strength and clarity.

In just a couple of days, May will come to an end and pretty soon I’ll give homage to the top five commentators for the month of May!

May is almost over and the slow transition from spring to summer is almost inevitable in some places.

This early, I am already conjuring up images of a grand vacation in an island paradise somewhere, probably sipping a cold fruit shake topped with a cherry and decorated with an umbrella, listening to the rush of the waves.

And I ask myself:

Maybe I should just write about my vacation and enjoy reading the envious comments of my readers and followers. (Not a bad idea, huh?) Although, there’s also the thought of lugging around my laptop computer to my summer getaway wearing a straw hat, shorts, and sandals that could really mar the idea.

Tapping away in my computer, I finally landed in Copyblogger’s site and found this gem of a blogpost that gave me a lot of exciting ideas!

21 Ways to Create Compelling Content When You Don’t Have a Clue

Feeling brazen because of the prospect of really enjoying a summer break, I find this to be the most interesting topic of all the 21 ways mentioned in the post: stealing content!

Of course, it’s not really stealing in the truest sense of the word. In the words of this Copyblogger article author, Danny Iny, it’s just “borrowing with the author’s blessing.”

So, here’s a peek on what I am envisioning to be doing in the coming months in coming up with compelling content as per Copyblogger’s tips:

• Curate content.
• Ask friends for content ideas.
• Ask my audience for content ideas.
• Do an interview.
• Solicit guest posts.

So far, I’ve had two amazing guest posts in my site and I am already eyeing my third!

Can you feel the May fever?

I don’t know about you but it’s infectious. There’s something about May that conjures images of great promise.

I know I have been quite busy lately especially in April and things started quite slow for me over at Empowered Online Entrepreneurs, but I managed to get back on track and I’m so glad that most of my readers and followers are still hanging on.
